Improvement

More consistent research through API and MCP

Developer research now follows the same keyword traffic distribution and product ranking capabilities as the website.

  • Search Demand queries focus on keyword traffic distribution and default to non-brand terms, with product breakdowns available for individual keywords.
  • Aligned REST and MCP query limits, response formats, and access checks, with clearer errors for invalid requests or missing permissions.
  • Updated the developer guide with examples for five read-only MCP tools: product search, latest launches, product profiles, keyword traffic distribution, and product rankings.
  • Clarified API key permissions and the differences between invited Developer Access and full research access.
Fix

Keyword breakdowns open without reloading the table

Opening a traffic breakdown keeps your research in place while the full details load separately.

  • The detail drawer opens immediately with the keyword and product information already shown in the table, then fills in the complete breakdown.
  • Search terms, filters, and table position are preserved when opening or closing a breakdown; browser back and forward navigation restore the selected keyword.
  • Recently viewed breakdowns are reused, failed requests can be retried, and quickly switching keywords no longer lets an older response replace the current selection.

See which AI products receive keyword traffic

Search Demand adds a traffic distribution view to help you see how demand is shared among tracked AI products.

  • Compare the leading products for each keyword, their estimated traffic shares, and the combined share of the top three products (CR3).
  • Open a keyword breakdown to explore receiving products, estimated visits, related terms, and links to product profiles.
  • Search the public sample and explore its breakdowns. Accounts with full database access can also filter by product sector, sort results, and browse further pages.
  • Added explanations of the sample month and share calculations: percentages describe estimated keyword traffic within tracked products, not market share across the entire web.

More ways to explore rankings for free

Visitors and Free accounts can use basic sorting and the Breakouts preset to discover growing AI products.

  • Sort by monthly growth rate, visits, or visits gained in either direction, with up to 30 results from the full eligible set for each category and sort.
  • Explore All movers or use the free Breakouts preset for products with at least 100K monthly visits and 25% monthly growth.
  • Keep the Breakouts preset when changing categories or sorting, and remove it as one filter when returning to broader results.
  • Made free presets and paid research controls easier to distinguish; complete leaderboards, custom thresholds, audience regions, and CSV exports remain subject to plan access.
Improvement

A clearer picture of each AI product

Product profiles bring growth, observed changes, and traffic sources into a more focused research page.

  • Reorganized profiles around a current brief, growth trajectory, product changes, and traffic sources, with less repeated information.
  • Brought acquisition channels, AI referrals, and leading search terms together so you can follow where traffic comes from.
  • Added AI referral source rankings, available traffic shares, and recent share trends for accounts with access to the underlying details.
  • Made missing, older, and access-limited data easier to identify, and corrected traffic-change labels to use visits rather than URLs.
